Private Assessment & Treatment Sessions

DeveloPT offers convenient live online video visits including physical therapy evaluations and treatment sessions as well as brief follow-ups or screenings.  We also offer comprehensive baby and child wellness programs.

Telehealth regulations state that a provider must be licensed in the state of client's residence. At this time, clients must reside in the states of Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Florida, or Colorado to receive physical therapy treatment from develoPT. Due to rapidly changing telehealth laws and policies, this requirement may be updated soon. If you are outside of this area, please send us a message including the state in which you live. Additional licenses may be obtained in the near future, opening up new states of service.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is using electronic information and technologies to provide health services. This technology allows develoPT to provide consultations, assessment, follow-ups and coaching to patients in remote settings. A telehealth appointment starts with you selecting a time that suits your needs, and the entire session is conducted virtually through a live video connection on a computer, tablet, or phone. All sessions are fully HIPAA-compliant and secured. Emails and other communications are sent over an encrypted platform to ensure privacy and security. See below for all of the benefits of telehealth!!

What conditions do you treat?

What is developmental & wellness guidance?

In basic terms, developmental & wellness therapy are preventative health services.

These types of therapy support can answer questions such as:

  • Is my child growing, developing, and learning new movement skills in an age-appropriate manner?

  • How do I embrace my child's full potential?

  • Is my child demonstrating/not demonstrating something that causes concern or worry?

  • What types of activities can I provide for my child that promote development?

Wellness & developmental consultations are the answer to these and many more anxiety-filled questions we experience as parents.

Many times, health providers are unable to devote time and effort into listening to parents' concerns and questions. That lack of listening to parent/caregiver information is often a missing piece that allows children with treatable challenges to slip through the cracks.

DeveloPT's mission is to first listen, and then collaborate to support parents through the joyous and challenging season of parenthood.

DeveloPT provides a convenient, always accessible expert source of knowledge that can provide priceless peace of mind. These preventative services promote optimal health and growth of your child, along with physical well-being and disease prevention.

Proper brain development relies on movement and exploration of one's environment. This means it is vital for your child to move and explore his/her world in order to learn. Any barriers to exploration, such as issues with movement delay or dysfunction can negatively impact his/her development on many levels, including cognition, emotions, and speech as well as motor skills. DeveloPT will provide gross motor 'exercises' and activities to foster your child's exploration and overall learning.

DeveloPT's comprehensive therapeutic services are aimed at maximizing your child’s unique potential. Telehealth enables quick, easy access to your consistent specialized pediatric physical therapist, who will address your child’s current abilities and your questions. We provide guidance through the parenthood journey filled with exciting, new, and sometimes uncertain phases.

Developmental & wellness services provided by develoPT will ensure your child is developmentally age-appropriate and identify potential issues early. This early intervention is key to a successful treatment program. Most of all, develoPT wants to support you in embracing your child's potential.

How does telehealth work?

Receiving a telehealth consultation is very similar to a video chat. This is the same concept as Facetime, Skype, and Google Duo. The only equipment you need is a computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and good internet service. Once you schedule the telehealth consultation, you will receive a link that allows you access to join the visit at the scheduled time. Telehealth in Texas includes a medical collaboration called 'Direct Access'. This means that a patient can be evaluated by a physical therapist and receive short-term care without a physician referral. Once telehealth physical therapy is determined to be an appropriate treatment method for a patient, a plan of care is established and provided to the patient's physician.

What is a self-pay practice?

Self-pay is simply a business model where services are paid directly by the recipient, rather than going through a third-party or health insurance. This model comes with many benefits. Self-pay does not require a monthly premium, and clients who self-pay do not have to worry about chronic or pre-existing conditions or falling within an insurer's list of exclusions.
